VTV - Review

"ooNae uyirae
unakkaaga thudiththaen
viNmeenae
viNNaiththaaNdi varuvaaya"

Gautham Menon has a knack of providing a movie which would be admired by most of the people. Kakka Kakka, Vettaiyadu Vilayadu, Varanam Aayiram all are samples. I would rate VTV, Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya, as one of his best movie. One of my relative told what rubbish movie is this. Yes for those who have neverexperienced what is true love this movie wouldnt mean anything. But for those who has experienced or still experiencing True Love, this movie will portray their pains their happiness and even to some extent their feelings.

Have to congratulate Gautham for bringing out the best of Simbu and Trisha. Simbu has done his role to the perfection without any overacting, which he usually does. And Trisha, after something something, you can see the best expressions from her. My wife was glued to her costumes and she said they are really good. But I liked her expressions. Its ok opinion differs. But overall we liked the movie. I can hear what you are saying, naming the blog as review but there is nothing about the storyline what is this?. Coming to it.

Movie starts as a flashback. Yes as in Kakka Kakka simbu reels back his thoughts. Simbu as Karthik is a mechanical engineering guy who wants to get into the film industry and make a name for himself. He keeps on knocking the doors of big directors and finally becomes the assistant of KS Ravikumar. Since there was time for the new movie to kick off Karthik does the usual job of all the heroes. Roaming around. One evening when he was standing at the gate of his house he meets Jessie(Trisha) who lives upstairs. Karthik falls for her and try to win her heart. Jessie explains him that they cannot get married because of the cast problems.

Jessie goes to Alapuzha and Karthik with his friend who is a cameraman goes with him. There are some good rib tickling sequences whenever this pair comes on screen. They search for Jessie and finally meets her in a church. Jessie takes them to their house and introduce them as her classmates. The family believes her words and treats Simbu and his friend very nicely. On their return Jessie and Karthik comes back to chennai together. Watch the omanapenne song and you will get mesmerised. Rahman is a true genius. No doubt he won oscar and grammy.

As the fate has it, Jessie's marriage is scheduled in Alapuzha. She stops the marriage and meets Karthik there and accepts his love. In the mean time the new movie which KSR directs, starts and Karthik has to go to goa. Jessie's parents again plans for wedding and she tries desperately to reach Karthik. When she was ready to move to goa and be with him Karthik asks her to wait for his return and then they can decide. But alas, Jessie decides to stop their relationship and go on with her marriage making Karthik a devadas. What happens to Karthik then is the final 30 mins which some might feel boring.

True love will never fail. But why jessie has to move away from karthik just when he told her to wait. What is Gautam Menon trying to say? Don't want to explain it here. But the expressions on Karthik's face after this is really good. And the pain he undergoes can also be felt by many. I felt how much ever love you shower on a girl ultimately they will place secondary to their parent whom they themselves might detest. The guy has to be an idiot accepting whatever life throws on his way. And I heard comment at the end of the movie. The heroine has taken a practical decision to move on.

Wow, she will love a guy and then move on hurting him. Is that practical. I will leave it to each and everyone's heart to decide. Music is the biggest backbone for this movie and ARR has done full justice. All the songs remains in heart. Mannipaya, Omanapenne and Anbil Avan stands out. Watch the movie if you love love. Watch the movie if you dont love love to understand what love is. If you dont get the feeling or remember your first love then please note you might not have given 100% that time.
